Welcome to the Western Mountains Reading Council

What is Western Mountains Reading Council?

Western Mountains Reading Council is an affiliate of the North Carolina Reading Association and the International Reading Association. This Council was formed in 2003 with the goals of supporting reading and reading instruction, promoting literacy, and serving the needs of members to attain these goals. Since its inception, WMRC has steadily grown in membership and has had a positive influence on the community and members. 

WMRC meets on a regular basis at various locations.  Members include administrators, educators, student interns, and any others interested in promoting literacy and encouraging a lifelong love of reading.
